Front Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair

REGULATOR-WINDOW

REMOVAL




1. Remove the watershield.




2. Temporarily install the window switch and position the glass (2) fully up to gain access to the glass clamp screws (3).
3. Loosen the bolt in each of the window regulator glass clamps just far enough to release the door glass from the clamps. Do not completely remove.
4. Tape the glass securely into place.




5. Remove the mid-conduit clip and door harness clip prior to regulator removal.
6. Remove the bolts (1 and 3) that secure the window regulator rails to the inside of the door.
7. Lower the regulator rails within the door far enough to access and disconnect the wire harness connector (5) from the regulator motor through the large access hole in the center of the door and remove the regulator.

INSTALLATION




1. Load the window regulator (4) into the front door through the large access hole in the center of the door and connect the wire harness connector (5) to the regulator motor.
2. Engage the three bolts (1) into the keyed holes (2) on the inside of the door.
3. Install the two bolts (3) that secure the bottom of the regulator rails to the door. Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (90 in. lbs.).
4. Tighten the bolts that secure the regulator rails (4) to the three keyed holes (2) on the inside of the door. Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (90 in. lbs.).




5 .Carefully remove the tape securing the door glass (2) in its full up position, then lower the glass and engage it into the two window regulator glass clamps (3).
6. Temporarily install the window switch and raise the glass into the full up position.
7. Tighten the bolts in each of the window regulator glass clamps to 10 N.m (90 in. lbs.).




8. Install the watershield and the trim panel onto the inside of the front door.
