Hood Latch Release: Service and Repair
RELEASE-HOOD LATCHREMOVAL
1. Remove the hood latch (4).
2. Remove release cable (2) from the three hood release cable retainers (1).
3. From inside the vehicle, remove the two screws (3) that secure the hood release handle (1) to the cowl trim panel.
4. Remove the grommet (2) from the cowl panel (1) and remove the hood release cable and handle assembly (4).
INSTALLATION
1. Route the hood release cable through the cowl panel (1) and install the grommet (2).
2. Position the hood release handle (4) onto the cowl trim panel.
3. Install the two screws (3) that secure the hood release handle (4) to the cowl trim panel.
4. Route the hood release cable (2) along the left inner fender and the upper radiator crossmember and install the three hood release cable retainers (1).
5. Install the hood latch (4) .
