C2206 - VEHICLE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
When the Anti-Lock Brake Module detects the signal from the gateway module relevant for vehicle characteristic is missing for a period greater than the specified fault duration.
Diagnostic Test
1. CHECK FOR A DTC C2206-VEHICLE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH
NOTE: This DTC must be active for the results of this test to be valid. Diagnose and repair any communication DTCs in the FCM or PCM and any system under Voltage or over voltage DTCs before continuing with this test.
NOTE: If the ABM was flashed or replaced, it must be initialized using the scan tool. Refer to ABS Verification Test. ABS Verification Test
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
With the scan tool, read and record Environmental Data to help identify the conditions in which the DTC was set.
With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
Cycle the ignition switch off then on.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: C2206-VEHICLE CONFIGURATION MISMATCH?
Yes
- With the scan tool, select FCM under ECU selection then Misc Functions and Restore Vehicle Configuration.
No
- Refer to the ABS-INTERMITTENT CONDITION TEST. ABS Intermittent Condition Test
2. VERIFY THAT THE FCM/PCM IS CONFIGURED CORRECTLY
Check the following data to ensure the FCM/PCM is configured correctly. Engine Displacement (PCM), XWD 4x2, 4x4, all Wheel Drive, (FCM), Axle ratio (FCM), Vehicle Line (FCM), Brake type 0= ABS 1=ESP (FCM).
NOTE: The DTC will be active when a new controller is installed until initialization is performed.
Was the FCM/PCM configured correctly?
Yes
- Replace the Anti-Lock Brake Module.
- Perform ABS VERIFICATION TEST. ABS Verification Test
No
- Reprogram the appropriate module.
- Perform ABS or PCM VERIFICATION TEST. Verification Tests
