REMOVAL





The EGR valve and solenoid assembly (1) is attached to the rear of the right cylinder head.

1. Use a diagnostic scan tool to record any DTC's (Diagnostic Trouble Codes).
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.




A metal gasket (2) is used between the EGR valve/solenoid assembly, and the right cylinder head.





A metal tube (1) connects the EGR valve/solenoid assembly to the intake manifold.

3. Remove the upper (plastic) half of the intake manifold.




4. Disconnect electrical connector (2) at EGR valve.




5. Remove tube mounting bolt (2).




6. Remove two tube mounting bolts (1) at EGR valve end of tube.
7. Remove and discard gasket (5) and O-ring (3).




8. Remove two EGR valve mounting bolts (3).
9. Discard gasket (2).
