B10C2 - REAR DEFROST SWITCH STUCK (CCN)

- When Monitored:
Continuously
- Set Condition:
When the Rear Defrost Switch in the Switch Bank is held in the On position for over 10 seconds, this code will set.
1. VERIFY DTC B10C2 - REAR DEFROST SWITCH STUCK IS ACTIVE
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, check for DTCs.
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, and turn the ignition on.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To2
No
- The condition that caused this symptom is currently not present. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also, inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals. Repair as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK FOR DTC B10C2 - REAR DEFROST SWITCH STUCK WITH SWITCH BANK (REAR DEFOGGER SWITCH) DISCONNECTED
Turn the ignition off.
With the scan tool, erase DTC's.
Disconnect the Switch Bank connector.
Turn the ignition on.
With the scan tool, read DTC's.
Does the scan tool display this code as active?
No
- Replace the Switch Bank.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test.
Yes
- Go To 3
3. (D506) LIN BUS CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Instrument Cluster (CCN) C2 harness connector.
Measure the resistance between ground and the (D506) LIN Bus circuit.
Does the ohm meter read open circuit?
Yes
- Replace the Instrument Cluster (CCN).
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
No
- Repair the (D506) LIN Bus circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
