HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.
THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 11.01 OR HIGHER TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

Flash: Driveability Improvements, Hard Start, Spark Knock, ETC Light Flashing
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.
MODELS:
2011 (WK) Grand Cherokee
NOTE:
This Service Bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 5.7L engine (Sales Code EZH) built before August 9, 2010 (MDH 0809XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some customers may notice the following conditions:
^ A spark knock at any speed with an aggressive acceleration.
^ Long crank condition after a 40 minute hot soak. This happens after the vehicle has been driven and the engine has reached normal operating temperatures.
^ ETC light flashing and vehicle in RPM limit mode and DTC P2110 - Electronic Throttle Control System Bank 1 - Forced Limited RPM set.
^ Stored DTC P2110 - Electronic Throttle Control System Bank 1 - Forced Limited RPM set.
The PCM software was modified to correct these conditions.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH(TM)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify no DIG's are set. If DTC's are present other then the one listed above record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the above condition is present, perform the Repair Procedure.

If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.
1. Reprogram the PGM with the latest software. Help using the wiTECH diagnostic application for flashing an ECU is available by selecting "Help then "Help Contents at the top of the wiTECH diagnostic application window. After PCM reprogramming, the following must be performed:
a. Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.
b. Perform a ETC relearn if DTC P2110 was active or stored on the vehicle.
2. Type the necessary information on the "Authorized Modification Label" and attach it near the VECI label.
