REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the driver door glass and door module. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Door - Front > GLASS, Door > Removal.
2. Replace the driver door glass weatherstrip run. Pull weatherstrip run (1) out of metal door channel (2) at the B-pillar side of the door by pulling inward and up on the weatherstrip (Fig 1).
3. Remove the rest of the weatherstrip (1) by pulling down around the top perimeter of the door channel (2) and pull the end of the weatherstrip up out of the door near the door mirror (Fig. 2).
4. Install new door weatherstrip run (1) by reversing the removal process (Fig. 3).
NOTE:
Make sure the glass run is seated below the outer and inner weatherstrip beltline (directional arrows 1 to 5) before reinstalling the door module and glass. If not directly pressurized the seal may still cause the window to bind during travel.
NOTE:
Use glass cleaner if desired to aid installation of the new door weatherstrip run by spraying it on the OUTSIDE ONLY of the weatherstrip. To reduce the sliding resistance of the glass when raised and lowered, Krytox can be used and must be applied to the INSIDE ONLY of the weatherstrip before it is installed.
5. Reinstall the driver door glass and door module. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Door - Front > GLASS, Door > Installation.
6. Perform the front door glass speed test by starting the engine and with both front door glass in the full down position, raise the glass in both doors at the same time.
7. Does the driver door glass lag the passenger glass by more than 2 inches when fully raised?
a. Yes >>> Further diagnosis required, this bulletin does not apply.
b. No >>> Return the vehicle to the customer.
