Oxygen Sensor - Installation

DOWNSTREAM O2 SENSORS





Threads of new oxygen sensors are factory coated with anti-seize compound to aid in removal. Do not add any additional anti-seize compound to threads of a new oxygen sensor.

1. Using the appropriate oxygen sensor removal/installation tool, install the O2 sensors (1) and tighten to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect the O2 sensors electrical connectors (2).
3. Raise the transmission and install the crossmember to frame bolts and tighten to 68 Nm (50 ft. lbs.), remove the safety stand or jack.
4. If removed, install the prop shaft Drive Shaft - Installation.
5. Lower the vehicle.

UPSTREAM O2S SENSORS

NOTE: The upstream O2 sensors and connectors can be accessed from the top side of the engine.

1. Using the appropriate oxygen sensor removal/installation tool, install the O2 sensors and tighten to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.).
2. Connect the O2 sensor electrical connector(s).
