U0416-IMPLAUSIBLE DATA RECEIVED FROM ESP
For a component related wiring diagram, (Refer to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) - Schematics and Diagrams).
- When Monitored:
Continuously while the system is active.
- Set Condition:
An error message has been received over the bus from the Anti-lock Brake Module.
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.
1. ACTIVE DTC
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury (Refer to Electrical/8F - Engine Systems/Battery System - Warning).NOTE: When performing any key-on procedure you must charge the 12 volt battery with a setting of 20 amps minimum or the High Voltage Battery could discharge below recommended manufacture specifications and destroy the battery cells.
NOTE: Diagnose all CAN B and C communication DTCs before continuing.
1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. With a scan tool, view DTCs.
Is the status Active for this DTC?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Perform the INTERMITTENT DTC diagnostic procedure. Intermittent Condition Test.
2. ABS COMMUNICATION RELATED DTCs IN OTHER MODULES
1. With the scan tool, select Network Diagnostics.
Is there more than one module with active DTCs "Logged Against" the ABS at this time?
Yes
- Replace and program the Anti-lock Brake Module (ABS).
- Perform the ABS VERIFICATION TEST. ABS Verification Test.
No
- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module.
- Perform the PCM VERIFICATION TEST - 2.0L DIESEL. Powertrain Verification Test
