25, 2012, WHICH SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM YOUR FILES. ALL REVISIONS ARE HIGHLIGHTED WITH **ASTERISKS** AND INCLUDE A CHANGE TO THE SPECIFIED PART AND ITS USAGE.

SUBJECT:
Rear Door Lock Knobs Rattle When The Power Door Locks Are Actuated

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves applying Nye grease to the rubber grommet in the rear door modules to eliminate any friction between the link rod and the door module grommet.

MODELS:

2011-2012 (KK) Jeep Liberty

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built before February 3, 2012 (MDH 0203XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may notice the rear door lock knobs shuddering, vibrating, or rattling when actuating the power door locks or remote key fob only.

NOTE:
The symptom/condition may occur intermittently to rear power door lock function during electronic actuation only and does not affect manual function or operation of the locking system.

DIAGNOSIS:
If the customer describes the symptom, perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove both rear door panels. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Doors - Rear > PANEL, Rear Door Trim > Removal.





2. Apply Nye grease to the rubber grommets (1) in the door modules (3) on the side of the grommet that may come in contact with the link rod (2) as shown in (Fig. 1)

3. Reinstall both rear door panels. Refer to the detailed procedures available in DealerConnect > TechCONNECT > under: Service Info > 23-Body > Doors - Rear > PANEL, Rear Door Trim > Installation.
