Front Windshield Appears Chipped At The Bottom Edge
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves inspecting and if necessary replacing the windshield.
MODELS:
2013 (JK) Wrangler
NOTE:
This applies to vehicles built before August 12, 2012 (MDH0812XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Windshield appears chipped at the bottom edge.
DIAGNOSIS:
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Inspect the front windshield at the bottom edge as shown in (Fig. 1). Did windshield appear chipped?
a. Yes >>> Proceed to Step # 2.
b. No >>> Return the vehicle to the customer or dealer inventory.
NOTE:
The windshield is not chipped and only appears to be, due to vinyl sheet being too long between the two pieces of glass. This can occur anywhere along the bottom edge on the front windshield.
2. Remove and replace the front windshield. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in: DealerConnect > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23-Body > Stationary Glass> Removal/Installation.
