Air Cleaner Housing: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Disconnect the resonance chamber hose from the fresh air duct.
2. Remove the fresh air duct by loosening the clamp and removing the two mounting bolts.
3. Loosen the clamp that holds the air intake duct to the air cleaner housing.
4. Disconnect the mass airflow sensor connector by depressing the spring latch.
5. Disconnect the air intake hose.
6. Remove the bolt and two nuts that retain the air cleaner housing assembly. Remove housing assembly.
7. Remove air cleaner bracket by removing its bolt.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the air cleaner bracket on fender well and retain with one bolt.
2. Position housing assembly on bracket and retain with one bolt and two nuts.
Tighten to 18 lb ft (25 Nm)
3. Reconnect the air intake hose and tighten its clamp.
4. Reconnect the mass airflow sensor connector.
5. Reinstall the fresh air duct by installing the two mounting bolts.
Tighten to 12 lb ft (9 Nm)
6. Tighten the clamp on the fresh air duct and reattach the resonance chamber hose.
