Flow of Diagnosis

WARNING: The fuel system remains under pressure when the engine is not running. Release fuel system pressure before disconnecUng any fuel line to reduce the chance of personal Injury or fire damage to vehicle components. Fuel is explosive. An empty fuel tank can still contain explosive gases. Supply adequate ventilation to the work area. Do not smoke, and keep sparks and open flames away. Refer to Fuel Pressure Release.

FLOW OF DIAGNOSIS
Most of the fuel and emission control system is electrically controlled, often making it difficult to diagnosis problems in the system, especially intermittent problems. Before undertaking actual checks, take a few minutes to talk with a customer who approaches with a driveabilitv complaint. The customer is often a good source of information on such problems, especially intermittent ones. Through talks with the customer, one can find out what the symptoms are and under what conditions they occur.
