Ignition Timing: Testing and Inspection

Ignition Timing Check Procedure

1. Warm up the engine and let idle.

Idle Speed (transmission NEUTRAL): 800 ± 50 rpm.

2. Turn all other electrical systems OFF.
3. Connect the timing light to high tension lead number one.





5. Check that the ignition timing mark on the crankshaft pulley aligns with the timing mark on the engine block.

NOTE: Ignition timing is not adjustable.
