Troubleshooting - General Notes

A problem with the AW372LE Transmission may be caused by the engine, the powertrain, the hydraulic control system, or the Transmission Control Module (TCM).

When troubleshooting, therefore, begin with those areas which can be inspected quickly and easily.

The recommended troubleshooting sequence is listed, and described (under the appropriate headings):

Step 1: Self-diagnosis function
Check for diagnostic trouble code(s) stored in the TCM.

Step 2: Diagnostic trouble codes
Troubleshoot the problem using the appropriate diagnostic trouble code inspection chart.

Step 3: Mechanical system test
Check the engine stall speed, time lag, line pressure, and throttle pressure.

Step 4: Road test

Check the shift point, shift schedule, and shift shock. An example of transmission shift patterns is shown.
