TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN
SUBJECT:
FUEL SYSTEM CLEANER RECOMMENDATION
AND FUEL QUALITY INFORMATION
This bulletin provides information about "TECHRON(R) Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner" that is now Kia approved and recommended (refer the vehicle owner to the maintenance section of owners manual) for complete fuel system cleaning during routine service intervals and preventative maintenance. A 12-ounce bottle will safely treat up to 12 gallons of gasoline, and can be used in all gasoline engine types, including MPI or GDI systems. "TECHRON(R) Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner" should be used at every standard oil change interval (7500) miles, if TOP TIER* Detergent Gasoline is not available. "TECHRON Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner" effectively cleans fuel injectors, intake valves, combustion chambers, and protects critical fuel system components from corrosion and sulfur content in fuel. This product will not harm emission control systems and will not leave behind harmful combustion chamber deposits.
*NOTICE
A single tank (up to 12 gallons) that is treated with a 12 ounce bottle is sufficient for cleaning the fuel system in normal cases. However, a second treatment on the next consecutive fill up may give additional benefits for engines with a heavier accumulation of deposits.
"TECHRON(R) Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner" can be used to help maintain optimum fuel system performance, and is recommended for use during every oil change as part of a preventative maintenance practice if TOP TIER* Detergent gasoline is not available.

Gasoline Quality Information:
Kia recommends the use of high-quality gasoline, including gasoline advertised as "TOP TIER* Detergent Gasoline," as well as periodic use of an approved "Fuel System Cleaner" if TOP TIER* Detergent Gasoline is not readily available. This is especially important for vehicles equipped with gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines with advanced fuel delivery systems.
If use of poor quality gasoline is suspected, customer should be advised to refuel at a different fueling station or switch to a TOP TIER* brand of gasoline. Poor quality gasoline may exhibit one or more of the following characteristics:
^ Abnormal odor and/or color
^ Water in the fuel
^ Sediments and suspended foreign substances/contaminates
^ Cloudy appearance and (after settling) showing signs of separation
Warranty Information:
The use of "TECHRON Concentrate Plus Fuel System Cleaner" is a Customer Pay Item during the time of routine service / maintenance and the cost is not reimbursable under warranty.
