Customers may complain that the ambient temperature display on the overhead multi-meter is not accurate. The logic used in the control module has two update modes, Fast Rate: 1.8 degree F every minute at speeds over 15 mph and Slow Rate: 1.8 degree F every 4 minutes at speeds below 9 mph. The control module uses inputs such as the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) and the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensors which are used in conjunction with an internal time delayed processor. The logic behind these delays are due to extreme road temperatures, radiator heat and high traffic conditions that may interfere with the actual outside ambient temperature.de ambient temperature.
