Subject: Spark Plug Replacement/Maintenance
All Land Rover vehicles are now all fitted with Champion RN11YCC (ERR3799) spark plugs. These spark plugs are of double copper core construction and have a service life of 30,000 miles. Replacement is not required prior to the 30,000 mile interval service. Land Rover North America strongly discourages and objects to any dealer policy which involves replacement of spark plugs prior to 30,000 miles. Spark plug replacement is not specified as part of the 15,000 mile service.
Replacement of plugs prior to the recommended service interval is unnecessary and only serves to raise the cost of ownership of our products.
In addition, please refer to Warranty Bulletin W94-008, noting particularly item 3 under "Warranty Policy" relating to claims prior to or at PDI. Land Rover North America intends to strongly enforce this policy.
