DETAIL
A number of vehicles have had incorrectly sized nuts fitted to secure the driveshaft to the differential pinion drive flange. The 155 vehicles to this condition are individually identified by dealer number and VIN on the list supplied with Recall Service Bulletin R95-001. All of these vehicles must have the nuts and bolts changed.
The following vehicle information is applicable.
^ Range Rover Classic - (differential end) front driveshaft nuts and bolts only.
^ Discovery - (differential end) front driveshaft nuts and bolts only.
^ Defender 90 - (differential end) front and rear driveshaft nuts and bolts.

Range Rover Classic and Discovery
NZ 606041L Front driveshaft drive flange nuts - 4 req.
509045P Front driveshaft drive flange bolts - 4 req.
Defender 90
NZ 606041L Front and rear driveshaft drive flange nuts - 8 req.
509045P Front and rear driveshaft drive flange bolts - 8 req
PROCEDURE
All vehicles:
1) Position vehicle on a lift.
2) Mark drive flange orientation with an identification mark to aid reassembly.
Front driveshaft - All models
3) Remove all four nuts and bolts at the differential end of the prop shaft and hold for warranty return.
4) Replace with new nuts and bolts supplied.
5) Tighten nuts to 48 Nm.
Rear driveshaft - Defender 90 only
6) Follow same procedure as for front driveshaft.
