Front Door Latch Upgrade

SITUATION:

ERRATIC CDL, ALARM AND MESSAGE CENTRE FUNCTION

Malfunction of the Central Door Lock System and Message Centre can occur due to water ingress into the door latch microswitches.

RESOLUTION:

INSTALL DOOR LATCHES WITH WATERPROOF MICROSWITCHES

To reduce malfunctions of CDL, Alarm and Message Centre systems due to door latch microswitch water ingress,a new latch assembly has been introduced. This new latch assembly has a waterproof microswitch with integral leads. When installing the new latches in an older vehicle, the vehicle must be modified using the following procedure. Vehicles manufactured after TA351 347 are equipped with the upgraded latches.

NOTE:
The old latch has been superseded. When an order is placed for an old style latch, all the parts necessary to perform the conversion will automatically be sent to your dealership.

Right Front Latch components required to replace old style latch (ALR6954)

Left Front Latch components required to replace old style latch (ALR6955).

This procedure will require some, but not all of the parts contained in Kit # STC3866.
