Auxiliary Power Outlet: Description and Operation

Accessory Socket

DESCRIPTION

Introduction
Three accessory sockets are fitted, one in the fascia, one at the rear of the center console, and one in the rear load space.

OPERATION

Power Distribution
Feed from the positive battery terminal (C0192) is supplied to fusible link 11E and fusible link 18E (C0632) on an R wire. Both are located in the Battery Junction Box (BJB). Fusible link 11E (C0570) is connected to the ignition switch (C0028) by an N wire. When the ignition switch is turned to the auxiliary position, current flows across the switch (C0028) to the accessory socket relay coil (C0582) on a W wire. The accessory socket relay is located in the CJB, and is provided a ground path (C0585) on a B wire.

Fusible link 18E (C0570) provides a constant battery feed to the accessory socket relay (C0583) on an NS wire. When the relay is energised, current flows across the closed switch contacts to fuses 19P, 34P and 47P.

Fuse 34P (C0582) provides a feed to the front accessory socket (C0350) on a PG wire. Fuse 19P (C0585) provides a feed to the center accessory socket (C1692), also on a PG wire. Fuse 47P provides a feed to the rear accessory socket (C0942), again on a PG wire. All three sockets are provided a ground on B wires.
