EGR Backpressure Transducer: Testing and Inspection
EGR Modulator Inspection:

Disconnect vacuum hoses from modulator.

Block ports P and R.
-
Blow through port Q. Air should flow freely through filter.
Checking Vacuum Modulator Operation:
-
Start engine and raise rpm to 2,500.

Block ports P and R.
-
Blow through port Q. Strong resistance to air flow should be present.
-
Replace modulator if desired results are no achieved.
