Catalytic Converter: Service and Repair

Converter Replacement:

Removal
- Raise vehicle.
- Remove converter to front pipe bolts.
- Remove converter stays.
- Remove 3 mounting nuts at exhaust pipe.
- Remove front converters.
- Remove both sub-oxygen sensors.
- Remove bolts from rear pipe.
- Remove front pipe and converter.
- Discard all gaskets.

Front Converter Removal:

Installation
- Install new gaskets to exhaust manifolds.
- Attach converters to manifolds.

Torque value - 46 ft.lb (62 Nm)

- Install new gaskets to rear of converters.
- Install front pipe, and converter stays.

Torque value - 32 ft.lb (43 Nm)

- Install new gasket on rear converter.
- Install rear converter bolts.

Torque value - 32 ft.lb (43 Nm)

- Install rear converter support.

Oxygen Sensor Installation:

- Install sub-oxygen sensors.

Torque value - 33 ft.lb (44 Nm)
