Control Module HVAC: Description and Operation

A/C Compressor Control:

PURPOSE
A/C compressor delay control prevents air conditioning compressor operation for about 0.5 seconds after the system is turned on. The system also momentarily interrupts compressor clutch operation during sudden acceleration of heavy engine loads.

OPERATION
This circuit cuts air conditioning operation during vehicle acceleration in order to increase acceleration performance. During acceleration with the vehicle speed at 25 km/h (16 mph) or less, engine speed at 1,600 rpm or less and throttle valve opening angle at 600 or more, the A/C clutch switch is turned OFF for several seconds.
