Exhaust Gas Recirculation: Testing and Inspection
EGR SYSTEM OPERATION INSPECTION- Remove the V-bank cover.
- Using a jumper wire (or SST 09843-18020), connect terminals TE1 and E1 of the DLC 1.
- Keep the engine at 3,500 rpm.
- Set the transmission shift lever to the N position.
- Remove the jumper from the DLC1.
- Check whether the engine rpm increases 1O0 - 300 rpm under the following conditions:
Coolant temp. below 53°C (127°F): No increase
Coolant temp. above 55°C (131°F): Increases
- Reinstall the V-bank cover.
