No-Load Test
The following test must be performed within 3 to 5 seconds to avoid burning out the coil.Fig. 4 No-load performance test connection locations:

While keeping starter immobile, connect ammeter in series as shown in
Fig. 4. 2.
Ensure starter rotates smoothly with pinion moving out. With battery voltage 11.5V, ammeter should read
120A or less.
