Oil Pan: Service and Repair

1. Drain engine oil and engine coolant.
2. Remove engine under cover.
3. Remove radiator.
4. Disconnect A/C compressor and bracket. Place compressor aside and suspend it.
5. Disconnect No. 2 radiator hose from water inlet, then remove radiator pipe.
6. Remove water pump.
7. Remove cylinder head as outlined under Cylinder Head Assembly.
8. Disconnect oil cooler pipe bracket from No. 1 oil pan.
9. Remove oil level sensor.
10. Remove No. 1 oil pan to transmission housing attaching bolts.
11. Remove No. 2 oil pan mounting bolts and oil pan.
12. Remove No. 2 oil pan mounting bolts and oil pan.
13. Remove oil pan baffle plate and oil strainer.
14. Remove crankshaft pulley and drive belt idler pulley.
15. Remove oil pump with timing chain cover.
16. Reverse procedure to install. Torque oil pump and oil pan mounting bolts to specifications.
