Removal and Installation


FUEL PUMP ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Do not smoke or work near an open flame when working on the fuel pump.

1. Remove second seats.
2. Remove scuff plate.
3. Remove side garnish.
4. Remove step plate.
5. Disconnect floor mats.
6. Remove floor service hole cover.
- Remove the 3 screws and service hole cover.
7. Disconnect fuel pipe and hose from fuel pump bracket.

CAUTION: Remove the fuel filter cap to prevent the fuel from flowing out.

- Disconnect the fuel pump & sender gauge connector.





- Remove the union bolt and gaskets, and disconnect the outlet pipe from the pump bracket.
- Disconnect the return hose from the pump bracket.
8. Remove fuel pump and sender gauge assembly from fuel tank.





- Remove the 8 bolts.
- Pull out the fuel pump and sender gauge assembly.

NOTICE:
- Do not damage the fuel pump filter.
- Be careful that the arm of the sender gauge should not bent.

- Remove the gasket from the pump bracket.

INSTALLATION

1. Install fuel pump and sender gauge assembly to fuel tank.
- Install a new gasket to the pump bracket.
- Insert the fuel pump and sender gauge assembly into the fuel tank.
- Connect the fuel pump & fuel sender gauge connector.





- Install the fuel pump bracket with the 8 bolts.

Torque: 3.9 N.m (40 kgf.cm, 35 in.lbf)





2. Connect fuel pipe and hose to fuel pump bracket.
- Connect the return hose to the pump bracket.
- Connect the outlet pipe to the pump bracket with 2 new gaskets and the union bolt.

Torque: 29 N.m (300 kgf.cm, 22 ft.lbf)

3. Check for fuel leaks.
4. Install floor service hole cover.
- Install the service hole cover with the 3 screws.
5. Install floor mats.
6. Install step plate.
7. Install side garnish.
8. Install scuff plate.
9. Install second seats.

Torque: 39 N.m (400 kgf.cm, 29 ft.lbf)
