Air Conditioning Control Assembly
INSPECTION
Terminal Identification:
Battery Connection:
1. INSPECT ILLUMINATION OPERATION
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-13 and the negative (-) lead to terminal A-3 and then check that the illuminations light up.
If illuminations do not light up, replace the bulb.
2. INSPECT SWITCHES OPERATION
Air Inlet Control Switch:
Battery Connection:
Reference:
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-9 and the negative (-) lead to each terminal, as shown in the chart below.
b. Check that the indicators light up.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-13 and negative (-) lead to terminal B-16 and check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the NC control assembly.
d. Check that there is continuity between terminals A-15 and B-16, while switch is pressed.
If operation is not as specified, replace the NC control assembly.
Air Outlet Control Switch:
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal B-16.
b. Push each of the mode buttons in and then check that the their indicator light up.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-13 and check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
Terminal Identification:

d. Check that their is continuity between the terminals while switch is pressed.
If continuity is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
Blower Speed Control Switch:
Battery Connection:
Reference:
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-9 and the negative (-) lead to each terminal, as in the chart below.
b. Check that the indicators light up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-13 and negative (-) lead to terminal 16 and check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
d. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-9 and negative (-) lead to terminal 13-16.
Battery Connection:
Reference:
e. Connect the positive (+) from the battery to each terminal through a 1.4 W test bulb, as shown in the chat below.
f. Push the each of the buttons in and then check that the indicator and test bulb light up.
If operation is not as specified, replace the NC control assembly.
Auto Switch:
Battery Connection:
Reference:
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-9 and negative (-) lead to each terminal, then check that the each color indicator lights up.
b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-13 and negative (-) lead to terminal 13-16 and check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
c. Check that there is continuity between terminals A4 and 13-16, while switch is pressed.
If continuity is not as specified, replace the NO control assembly.
AS A/C Switch:
a. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal a A-9 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 13-8 and then check that the indicator lights up.
b. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-13 and negative (-) lead to terminal 13-16 and check that the indicator dims.
If operation is not as specified, replace the NC control assembly.
c. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal A-9 and the negative (-) lead to terminals 13-15, 17 and 18.
d. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 131 through a 1.4 W test bulb and then check that the indicator and test bulb light up, while switch is pressed. If operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
OFF Switch:
Check that there is continuity between terminals A-10 and B-16, while switch is pressed.
If continuity is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
Temperature Control Switch:
a. Check that the resistance between terminals 131 and 132 is approx. 3.0 K Ohms.
b. Gradually move the temperature control lever from "COOL" side to "HOT" side, and check that the resistance between terminals 13-3 and B-1 increase from 0 to approx. 3 K Ohms If switch operation is not as specified, replace the A/C control assembly.
