Throttle Body: Service and Repair





COMPONENTS

REMOVAL
1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. DISCONNECT NO.2 PCV HOSE FROM THROTTLE BODY
3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER HOSE
4. DISCONNECT CABLES
Disconnect these cables from the throttle body:
- Cruise control actuator cable
- Accelerator cable
- Throttle cable
5. DISCONNECT CONNECTORS
Disconnect these connectors:
- Throttle position sensor connector
- AC valve connector





6. REMOVE THROTTLE BODY
(a) Disconnect these hoses:
(1) EVAP hose
(2) 3 vacuum hoses
(3) No.2 water bypass hose





(b) Remove the 4 bolts, and disconnect the throttle body from the air intake chamber.
(c) Remove the throttle body gasket.





(d) Disconnect the No.1 water bypass hose from the throttle body, and remove the throttle body.
(e) Disconnect the No.2 water bypass hose from the throttle body.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL THROTTLE BODY
(a) Install the No.2 water bypass hose to the throttle body.
(b) Install a new gasket on the air intake chamber.
(c) Connect the No.1 water bypass hose to the throttle body.





(d) Install the throttle body with the 4 bolts.

Torque: 21 N.m (210 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)





(e) Connect these hoses:
(1) EVAP hose
(2) 3 vacuum hoses
(3) No.2 water bypass hose
2. CONNECT CONNECTOR
Connect these connectors:
- Throttle position sensor connector
- AC valve connector
3. CONNECT CABLES
Connect these cables to the throttle body:
- Cruise control actuator cable
- Accelerator cable
- Throttle cable
4. INSTALL AIR CLEANER HOSE
5. CONNECT NO.2 PCV HOSE TO THROTTLE BODY
6. FILL WITH ENGINE COOLANT
