Operation Procedures

The following screen flows will provide the steps necessary to ADD or REWRITE Wireless Recognition Codes.

1. Connect the Diagnostic Tester to DLC3 and press the (ON) key.

2. Insert the key into the ignition key cylinder and turn to the ON position.





3. From the "FUNCTION SELECT" menu (Screen A), select [1: OBD/MOBD].





4. From the "OBD/MOBD MENU" (Screen B), select [9: BODY].





5. From "DIAGNOSTIC MENU BODY" (Screen C), select [4: WIRELESS REGIST.]





6. From REGIST. MODE SELECT" (Screen D), select the desired mode either [1: ADD MODE] or [2: REWRITE MODE] and view the sample screen flows under each heading following this section.

NOTE:
The number of current Registered Codes will be displayed at Screen D.

Add Mode
The ADD MODE is used to retain codes already registered and allows you to register new Recognition Codes. This mode is used when adding a transmitter. The Body ECU will register a maximum of 4 recognition codes. It the number of registered codes exceeds 4, previously registered codes are erased in order, starting from the first registered code. Please see the following steps for sample screen flow.





1. From the "REGIST. MODE SELECT" menu (Screen A), select [1: ADD MODE] and press the (ENTER) key.





2. At "ADD MODE" (Screen B), confirm conditions and press the (YES) key.





3. At the "CODE REGISTRATION" (Screen C), confirm the number of buttons on the transmitter key head and press the (ENTER) key.

NOTE:
It the transmitter is not the 3 button type, it cannot be registered using this method.





4. At "CODE REGISTRATION" (Screen D) read and note the instructions that will be used to add a new transmitter code. Once familiar with the procedure, press the (ENTER) key.

NOTE:
This screen is an Instruction Screen.
No action is required at this screen.





5. After pressing the (ENTER) key at Screen E, you will have 30 seconds to complete the button operation described in Screen D.





6. At "CODE REGISTRATION" (Screen F), perform the following steps:

1. Press the LOCK and UNLOCK button at the same time for 1 second and release.

2. Within 3 seconds, Press the LOCK or UNLOCK button for 1 second.





HINT:
After button switch operation of the transmitter, the following chart provides status of registration:





7. If registration is completed correctly, Screen G will be displayed and provide the option to register another transmitter code.

Rewrite Mode
The REWRITE MODE erases all the previously registered codes and registers the transmitter code used during this procedure. An additional three additional codes may be registered. Please see the following steps for sample screen flow.





1. From the "REGIST. MODE SELECT" menu (Screen A), select [2: REWRITE MODE] and press the (ENTER) key.





2. At the "REWRITE MODE" (Screen B confirm registration and press the (YES) key.

CAUTION:
Selecting (YES) will erase all registered codes, requiring re-registration of all existing transmitters.





3. At "CODE REGISTRATION" (Screen C), identify the buttons on the transmitter key head and press the (ENTER) key.

NOTE:
If the transmitter is not the 3 button type, it cannot be registered using this method.





4. At "CODE REGISTRATION" (Screen D) read and note the instructions that will be used to add a new transmitter code. Once familiar with the procedure, press the (ENTER) key.

NOTE:
This screen is an Instruction Screen.
No action is required at this screen.





5. After pressing the (ENTER) key at Screen E, you will have 30 seconds to complete the button operation described in Screen D.





6. At "CODE REGISTRATION" (Screen F), perform the following steps:
