Upper Side Moulding / Trim: Service and Repair

ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING

Roof Drip Side Finish Moulding:






REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING




2. REMOVE WINDSHIELD OUTSIDE MOULDING
Insert a screwdriver between the body and moulding to pry the moulding.

HINT: Tape the scraper tip before use.




3. REMOVE FRONT ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING
a. Remove the nut.
b. Using a scraper, pull off the front roof drip side finish moulding from the front end.

HINT: Tape the scraper tip before use.

c. Slide the front roof drip side finish moulding forward to remove it.

4. REMOVE ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING




a. Remove the 5 nuts.




b. Using a scraper, pull off the roof drip side finish moulding from the rear end.

HINT: Tape the scraper tip before use.

c. Insert a screwdriver between the body and moulding to disengage the clip.

HINT: Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

d. Pull the moulding upward to remove it.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING
a. Clean the body mounting surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 °C (104 - 140 °C).
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.

b. Install the roof drip side finish moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.

Body : 40 - 60 °C (104 - 140 °F)
Moulding : 20 - 30 °C (68 - 86 °F)

NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.

2. Lift the moulding release sheet from face of the moulding.

NOTE: When the moulding release sheet is removed, make sure that no dirt or dust can get onto the uncoated area.




3. Align the bolts with their corresponding holes in the body and press firmly on the moulding.

NOTE: Do not apply excessive force onto the moulding, but steady pressure with your thumbs.

4. Install the 5 nuts.
Torque: 6.9 N.m (70 kgf.cm, 61 in.lbf)

2. INSTALL FRONT ROOF DRIP SIDE FINISH MOULDING
a. Clean the body mounting surface.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body mounting surface to 40 - 60 °C (104 - 140 °F).
2. Remove the adhesive tape from the body.
3. Wipe off stains with cleaner.

b. Install the roof drip side finish moulding.
1. Using a heat light, heat the body and moulding.

Body : 40 - 60 °C (104 - 140 °F)
Moulding : 20 - 30 °C (68 - 86 F)

NOTE: Do not heat the moulding excessively.
