HEADLAMP SERVICEABILITY
To improve serviceability on the 2001 RX300, replacement headlamp retainer brackets have been established as separate service parts. If a headlamp retainer is damaged, the headlamp can be reused by installing the appropriate retainer bracket. Please use the procedures described in this bulletin to repair the affected headlamp retainer.
APPLICABLE VEHICLES: 2001 model year RX300 vehicles.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
Headlamp Removal
1. Remove Lower Grill.
A. Remove the 7 screws
B. Disconnect the 6 retainers and remove the lower grill.
2. Remove Front Fender Liner.
3. Remove Headlamp.
A. Disconnect the connectors.
B. Remove the bolt and 2 nuts.
C. Pull the headlamp forward to remove it, then disconnect the bracket that attaches the headlamp to the vehicle body.
4. Install Headlamp.
A. If the sections highlighted in the illustration are damaged, cut the shaded portion off flush (as seen in the illustration) with the housing base.
B. Sand the cut portion as necessary.
C. Install the replacement retainers to the boss of the headlamp with screws.
D. Install the headlamp.
E. Install the headlamp with the bolt and 2 nuts.
F. Reconnect the connectors.
5. Install Front Fender Liner.
6. Install Lower Grill.
