A. CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY REPLACEMENT

1. DETERMINE THE SUBSCRIPTION STATUS OF THE VEHICLE

^ If the subscription is still active, check with the Service Consultant for the signed "Lexus Link Removal Customer Acknowledgement Consent" form. Do NOT remove the Lexus Link system without this customer permission form.

2. RECORD THE RADIO STATION PRESETS

3. SET THE SEAT TO MEMORY POSITION 1





4. DISCONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE

NOTE:
Wait at least 20 seconds before proceeding to the next step to fully discharge the back-up battery. If the back-up battery is not discharged, the Lexus Link System may place a call to the Lexus Link Call Center.

5. REMOVE THE CONTROL SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the map light assembly.

(1) Open the sun glass holder with the Lexus Link buttons.





(2) Using a nylon pry tool, remove the lens.





(3) Remove the 4 screws and map light assembly, and then disconnect the connector.

NOTE:
Two of the screws may be covered by access panels.





(b) Replace the sunglass holder.

(1) Remove the tape and discard.

(2) Disconnect the connector for the sun glass holder and the grommet.





(3) Remove the spring from the old sun glass holder and discard.

NOTE:
If the spring is not replaced, it will affect the open-rate of the holder.





(4) Using a screwdriver, remove the gear and discard.

(5) Remove the old sun glass holder and discard.





(6) Install the new sunglass holder.

(7) Align the keyway slots on both the map light assembly and the new sun glass holder and firmly push the gear into the hole.





(8) Install the new grommet into the plug hole on the map light assembly.





(9) Install the new spring into the map light assembly.

NOTE:
Install the spring with the sun glass holder in the fully open position.





(c) Reinstall the map light assembly

(1) Reconnect the connector.

(2) Reinstall the map light assembly with the four screws.

(3) Reinstall the lens

A. DISCONNECT THE LEXUS LINK ECU





1. DISCONNECT THE LEXUS LINK ECU

(a) Remove the trunk floor mat and trunk floor panel.

(b) Remove the clip and then remove the passenger-side deck trim side board.





(c) For vehicles with the Lexus Dual-Mode Mobile Phone: Disconnect the Lexus Link ECU.

NOTE:
If the vehicle does not have a Lexus Dual-Mobile Phone, proceed to Step (d).

(1) Remove the foam tape from the connector and cut off the wire tie.





(2) Disconnect the 2 connectors as shown in the figure.





(3) Reconnect the female side connector "B" into the male side of the connector "A" as shown in the figure.

(4) Wrap the connector with half of the foam tape.

(5) Wrap the remaining Lexus Link connector with the remaining foam tape and tuck it underneath the wire harness.





(d) For vehicles without the Lexus Dual-Mode Mobile Phone: Disconnect the Lexus Link ECU.

(1) Disconnect the 2 connectors from the Lexus Link ECU.





(2) Route the vehicle wire harness connector (20 pin female) under the connector bracket then connect it to the connector (20 pin male) as shown.

(3) Wrap the remaining Lexus Link connector with the remaining foam tape and tuck it underneath the wire harness.





(e) Reinstall the passenger-side deck trim side board and reinstall the clip.

(f) Reinstall the trunk floor panel and trunk floor mat.





2. RECONNECT THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE

3. RESET THE RADIO STATION PRESETS


B. LSC COMPLETION LABEL INSTALLATION





After completing the repair and before returning the vehicle to the owner, an LSC completion label, which is enclosed in the owner's notification, must be affixed to the left front door hinge post, near the check strap.

(a) The label is to be filled out as follows:

^ Write in LSC 4LA.

^ Write in date of repair.

^ Write in your dealer code.

(b) Additional LSC completion labels, in sheets of 50 (P/N 00410-01918), may be ordered through the non-parts system on the DMS system.
