Wiper and Washer Systems: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. REMOVE WIPER ARMS
Remove the 2 nuts and wiper arms.

2. REMOVE COWL LOUVER WEATHERSTRIP
Remove the cowl louver weatherstrip from the body.




3. REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
Remove the 2 clips cowl top ventilator louver.

HINT: Raise up the front side of the cowl top ventilator louver to remove it.

4. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR COVER




5. REMOVE WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Remove the 4 set bolts.
b. Disconnect the connector.
c. Raise the front side of the wiper motor and link assembly up to remove it.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY
a. Install the wiper motor and link assembly.
b. Connect the connector.
c. Install and torque the 4 bolts.

Torque: 5.5 N.m (56 kgf.cm, 49 in.lbf)

2. INSTALL WIPER MOTOR COVER




3. INSTALL COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER
a. Install the cowl top ventilator louver with the 2 clips.

HINT: With the front side of the louver raised, install the protector on the glass, then push the louver down.

b. Install the body to cowl louver weatherstrip.




4. INSTALL WIPER ARMS
Install the wiper arms, and operate the wipers once and turn the wiper switch OFF.

A: 30 - 40 mm (1.18 - 1.57 in.)
B: 70 - 80 mm (2.76 - 3.15 in.)


Torque: 20 N.m (205 kgf.cm, 15 ft.lbf)
