Ignition Coil: Service and Repair
Ignition Coil:
REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
3. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
4. DISCONNECT ENGINE WIRE
a. Disconnect the 2 engine wire clamps from the cylinder head cover LH side.
5. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY
a. Disconnect the connector.
b. Remove the bolt and ignition coil.
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY
a. Install the ignition coil with the bolt.
Torque: 7.5 N.m (76 kgf.cm, 66 in.lbf)
b. Connect the connector.
2. CONNECT ENGINE WIRE
a. Connect the 2 engine wire clamps to the cylinder head cover LH side.
3. INSTALL INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR PIPE
4. INSTALL V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.
NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
