Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION: Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
3. REMOVE ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
4. REMOVE MASS AIR FLOW METER




a. Disconnect the MAF meter connector.
b. Remove the 2 screws and MAF meter.
c. Remove the O-ring from the MAF meter.

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL MASS AIR FLOW METER




a. Install a new O-ring to the MAF meter.
b. Install the MAF meter with the 2 screws.
c. Connect the MAF meter connector.

2. INSTALL ENGINE ROOM SIDE COVER RH
3. INSTALL COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL
4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
5. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
a. Perform initialization.

NOTE: Certain systems need to be initialized after disconnecting and reconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
