Registration
REGISTRATION1. IN CASE OF TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU
(a) Read the IDs stored in the old ECU using the intelligent tester.
2. IN CASE OF TIRE PRESSURE WARNING VALVE AND TRANSMITTER
(a) Read the ID written on the new tire pressure warning valve and transmitter.
3. REGISTER TRANSMITTER ID
NOTICE: It is necessary to register the transmitter ID in the tire pressure warning ECU when replacing the tire pressure warning valve and transmitter and/or tire pressure warning ECU.
(a) Connect the intelligent tester to DLC3 (Procedure "A").
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Procedure "B").
(c) Select the REGIST TIRE following the intelligent tester screen. (UTILITY - REGIST TIRE) (Procedure "C")
(d) Select the registration mode "MAIN" (Procedure "D").
HINT: Select "2nd" when registering the second set.
(e) Input the ID (ID1 to ID5) using the intelligent tester and transmit it to the tire pressure warning ECU (Procedure "E").
(f) Set the ID transmission condition to "ID Registration is complete".
HINT:
^ The previously registered IDs will be deleted from the memory when the registration is completed.
^ If the procedures "C" to "E" are not completed within 5 minutes, the mode will return to the normal operation mode.
^ When the system is in initialization mode after the tire pressure warning reset switch has been operated, the registration is disabled until the initialization process is canceled or completed.
4. CONFIRMATION OF TRANSMITTER ID REGISTRATION
(a) Connect the intelligent tester to DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(c) Select "TIREPRESS" by following the prompts displayed on the intelligent tester.
(d) Confirm that the data of tire pressure of all tires (including the spare tire) are displayed on the intelligent tester screen.
NOTICE:
^ It may take up to 1 minute or more to update the tire pressure data.
^ If the IDs have not been registered, DTC C2171/71 is set in the tire pressure warning ECU after 51 minutes or more.
5. PROCEDURE FOR DETERMINING TRANSMITTER ID STATUS ("MAIN" OR "2ND") FOR THE INSTALLED WHEELS
(a) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position (Procedure "A").
(b) Set the tire pressure warning select switch to the "MAIN" position (Procedure "B").
(c) Set the tire pressure of all wheels to the specified value (Procedure "C").
Cold tire inflation pressure:
(d) Rapidly reduce the pressure of any wheel to 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/cm2, 17 psi) (Procedure "D").
(e) Check the following items. If both of them are true, the transmitter ID of the currently installed wheel is registered in "MAIN" (Procedure "E").
^ Tire pressure warning light comes on.
^ The tire pressure of any tire is 120 kPa (1.2 kgf/cm2, 17 psi) when measured with the intelligent tester.
(f) If either of the conditions is not true, switch the tire pressure warning select switch to "2nd" and perform procedure "C" to "E". If both are true, the transmitter ID of the currently installed wheel is registered in "2nd".
