Introduction

As a result of the removal of the Short Pin, the ~automatic open and close" and "jam protection" functions of the power back door will be inoperative due to loss of the power back door position memory stored in the microcomputer.

Initialize the power back door after installing the Short Pin in its original location during Pre-Delivery Service (PDS).





NOTE:
Any time the battery terminal has been disconnected, the power back door MUST be re-initialized.

^ 2007 model year RX 400h vehicles.

Initialization Procedure

1. Fully close the power back door.

2. Cycle power back door to fully open and fully closed position.

A. Unlock the power back door using the "UNLOCK" button on the transmitter switch or the door control switch.

B. Check that the ignition switch is in the "OFF" position, and make sure the power hack door off switch is in the ON position.

C. Fully open and fully close the power back door by pushing the power back door switch (open/close) or the "PWR DOOR" button briefly on the transmitter switch.

NOTE:
Jam protection function is enabled through the above initialization procedure.
