Installation








2UZ-FE EXHAUST: EXHAUST PIPE:

INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL EXHAUST FRONT PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install a new gasket and the front pipe to the exhaust manifold.
(b) Install the exhaust front pipe with the 2 nuts.
Torque: 62 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf)
2. INSTALL NO. 2 EXHAUST FRONT PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install 2 new gaskets and the front pipe to the exhaust manifold.
(b) Install the exhaust front pipe with the 2 bolts and 2 nuts.
Nut - Torque: 62 Nm (630 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf)
Bolt - Torque: 48 Nm (490 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf)
3. INSTALL EXHAUST CENTER PIPE ASSEMBLY






(a) Using vernier calipers, measure the free length to the compression spring.
Minimum length:
40.5 mm (1.5945 in.)
If the free length is less than the minimum, replace the compression spring.
(b) Install a new gasket on the exhaust front pipe assembly.
(c) Install the exhaust center pipe assembly with the 2 bolts and 2 springs.
Torque: 43 Nm (440 kgf-cm, 32 ft-lbf)
4. INSTALL EXHAUST TAIL PIPE ASSEMBLY
(a) Install a new gasket on the exhaust center pipe.
(b) Install the tail pipe with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 48 Nm (490 kgf-cm, 35 ft-lbf)
5. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 1 Sensor 2)
(a) Install the heated oxygen sensor to the exhaust front pipe.
Torque: 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
HINT: After installing the heated oxygen sensor, check that the sensor wire is not twisted. If it is twisted, remove the heated oxygen sensor and reinstall it.

6. INSTALL HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (for Bank 2 Sensor 2)
(a) Install the heated oxygen sensor to the exhaust front pipe.
Torque: 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf)
(b) Connect the heated oxygen sensor connector.
HINT: After installing the heated oxygen sensor, check that the sensor wire is not twisted. If it is twisted, remove the heated oxygen sensor and reinstall it.

7. CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAK
