Interior Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The Multiplex Network Body ECU controls the following illumination light.
1 Room light assembly No. 1 (Interior light) with DOOR position
2 Map light assembly (Personal light)
3 Transponder key amplifier (Ignition key cylinder light)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 in the case of using the intelligent tester, and start from step 2 in the case of not using the intelligent tester.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ILLUMINATED ENTRY SYSTEM)
(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

OK:
Illumination condition is switched by Active Test.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT ILLUMINATION LIGHT





(a) Inspect the transponder key amplifier (ignition key cylinder light)
(1) Connect the battery positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the battery negative (-) lead to terminal 6, and check that the indicator light comes on.





(b) Inspect the map light assembly (personal light)
(1) Check continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in the chart.
Standard resistance:










(c) Inspect the room light assembly No. 1 (interior light)
(1) Check continuity between terminals at each switch position as shown in the chart.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPLACE ILLUMINATION LIGHT
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (ILE)
(a) Measure the voltage between terminal ILE of the instrument panel J/B assembly (driver side J/B assembly) and body ground.

(b) Back side of instrument panel J/B assembly (driver side J/B) is shown in the illustration below.





OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
