System Specifications

CYLINDER HEAD SET BOLT





Using vernier calipers, measure the thread outside diameter of the bolt.
Standard outside diameter: 9.810 to 9.960 mm (0.3862 to 0.3921 in.)
Minimum outside diameter: 9.700 mm (0.3819 in.)
If the diameter is less than the minimum, replace the bolt.

CYLINDER HEAD SUB-ASSEMBLY LH





If any one of the cylinder head bolts does not meet the torque specification, replace the cylinder head bolt.

Install and uniformly tighten the 10 cylinder head bolts, and plate washers, in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque: 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)

If any one of the cylinder head bolts does not meet the torque specification, replace the cylinder head bolt.





Mark the front of the cylinder head bolt head with paint.
Retighten the cylinder head bolts by 90° in the order shown.
Retighten the cylinder head bolts by an additional 90°.
Check that the painted mark is now at a 180° angle to front.

If any one of the cylinder head bolts does not meet the torque specification, replace the cylinder head bolt.

Install and uniformly tighten the 10 cylinder head bolts, and plate washers, in the order shown in the illustration.
Torque: 40 Nm (408 kgf-cm, 30 ft-lbf)

If any one of the cylinder head bolts does not meet the torque specification, replace the cylinder head bolt.





Mark the front of the cylinder head bolt head with paint.
Retighten the cylinder head bolts by 90° in the order shown.
Retighten the cylinder head bolts by an additional 90°.
Check that the painted mark is now at a 180° angle to front.

Warpage
Maximum: 0.10 mm (0.0039 in.)
Valve seat
Refacing angle: 30°, 45°, 60°
Contacting angle: 45°
Contacting width: 1.0 to 1.4 mm (0.039 to 0.055 in.)
Valve guide bushing bore diameter
STD: 10.285 to 10.306 mm (0.4049 to 0.4057 in.)
O/S 0.05: 10.335 to 10.356 mm (0.4069 to 0.4077 in.)
Cylinder head set bolt thread inside diameter
STD: 9.810 to 9.960 mm (0.3862 to 0.3921 in.)
Minimum: 9.70 mm (0.3819 in.)
Protrusion height
Intake: 9.2 to 9.8 mm (0.362 to 0.386 in.)
Exhaust: 8.2 to 8.8 mm (0.323 to 0.346 in.)

INTAKE MANIFOLD





Install and uniformly tighten the 6 bolts and 4 nuts in several steps.
Torque: 18 Nm (185 kgf-cm, 13 ft-lbf)

BEARING CAP RH
Install the oil feed pipe and the 22 bearing cap bolts as shown in the illustration.





Uniformly tighten the 22 bearing cap bolts in several steps, in the order shown in the illustration.
For bolt C - Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
For others - Torque: 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)

BEARING CAP LH
Install the oil feed pipe and the 22 bearing cap bolts as shown in the illustration.





Uniformly tighten the 22 bearing cap bolts in several steps, in the order shown in the illustration.
For bolt C - Torque: 7.5 Nm (76 kgf-cm, 66 in-lbf)
For others - Torque: 16 Nm (163 kgf-cm, 12 ft-lbf)

CAMSHAFT TIMING PULLEY
Camshaft Timing Pulley x Camshaft Timing Tube: 8.1 Nm (83 kgf-cm,72 in. lbf.)

EXHAUST MANIFOLD LH
Install the exhaust manifold with 8 new nuts. Uniformly tighten the nuts in diagonally.
Torque: 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf)

EXHAUST MANIFOLD RH
Install the exhaust manifold with 8 new nuts. Uniformly tighten the nuts diagonally.
Torque: 44 Nm (450 kgf-cm, 33 ft-lbf)
