Parking Brake Switch Circuit

DESCRIPTION

This circuit detects the state of the parking brake (ON/OFF) and sends it to each ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 in the case of using the intelligent tester, and start from step 2 in the case of not using the intelligent tester.

PROCEDURE

1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK PARKING BRAKE WARNING INDICATOR
(a) Pull up the parking brake lever.
(b) Check that the parking brake warning indicator comes on.
Standard:
Indicator comes on.
NG -- GO TO COMBINATION METER SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
(a) Check for open and short circuit in the harness and the connector between terminal PKB of the instrument panel J/B assembly (driver side J/B assembly) and the parking brake switch.
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
