Sliding Roof System (For Multi-Panel Moon Roof)

SLIDING ROOF: SLIDING ROOF SYSTEM (for Multi-panel Moon Roof): INITIALIZATION

INITIALIZATION

1. RESET SLIDING ROOF MOTOR
(a) The sliding roof may not operate automatically and the jam protection function will not function correctly after you reconnect, replace or recharge the battery. In any of these cases, reset the sliding roof system using the following method.
(1) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(2) Make sure that there is no foreign matter on the guide rails.
(3) Make sure that the guide rails are not deformed.
(4) Using the front side of the TILT switch, or by pushing the slide switch toward the front of the vehicle, fully close the sliding roof*.
(5) As soon as the sliding roof fully closes, release the switch.
(6) Press and hold the same side of the same switch again. A motor locked click sound will be heard. Continue to press the switch for 1 second after the motor locked click sound is heard.
(7) Confirm that all auto functions (open, close, tilt up and tilt down) work properly.
HINT:
- *: If the sliding roof reverses and stops partway, alternately press and release the necessary switches to move the roof to the desired position.
- If the battery terminal is disconnected, the ECU of the sliding roof motor may not detect the position of the roof glass. If the AUTO operation function is still disabled even after the sliding roof motor is reset, the Hall IC (built in the sliding roof motor assembly) for detecting the roof glass position may be malfunctioning.
