TC and CG Terminal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

DTC output mode is set by connecting terminals TC and CG of the DLC3.
The DTCs are displayed by blinking of the tire pressure warning light.

HINT: When each warning light blinks continuously, a ground short in the wiring of terminal TC of the DLC3 or an internal ground short in an ECU connected to this circuit is suspected.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE (DLC3 TERMINAL VOLTAGE)





(a) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - ECM)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check it a DTC of CAN communication system and multiplex communication system is output.
Result:






B -- REPAIR CIRCUITS INDICATED BY OUTPUT DTCS
A -- REPLACE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU
3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - ECM)





(a) Turn the ignition switch off.





(b) Disconnect the ECM E5 connector.
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND)





(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check if a DTC of CAN communication system and multiplex communication system is output.
