U151F AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: SHIFT LEVER: INSTALLATION
INSTALLATION
1. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the shift lever assembly with the 4 nuts.
Torque: 12 Nm (122 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
HINT: Tighten them in the order, A, B, C and D.
NOTE: Be careful not to put the wirings of the indicator light or the shift lock system between the floor shift assembly and the floor while installing the floor shift assembly.
(b) Install the pattern select switch connector, the shift lock control computer connector, and the indicator light wire connector.
2. CONNECT TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Connect the socket of the transmission control cable assembly to the shift lever assembly.
(b) Connect the control cable end to the shift lever assembly.
(c) Push the stopper cap to the socket as shown in the illustration.
(d) Turn the socket of the transmission control cable assembly clockwise and install the stopper cap.
NOTICE:
- To prevent torsion of the inner cable, the end with protrusion should face up.
- Push the cable end to the bottom of the pin.
- Confirm that the connection between the socket and the shift rock control unit is fixed.
3. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the shift lever knob sub-assembly.
4. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER CENTER
5. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER RH
6. INSTALL FLOOR CARPET COVER CENTER LH
7. INSTALL GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSEMBLY
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY NO. 2
9. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY LOWER
10. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH
11. INSTALL COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
12. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH
13. INSTALL FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
14. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LOWER
15. INSTALL CONSOLE PANEL UPPER FRONT
16. CONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
17. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION Adjustments
18. ADJUST SHIFT LEVER POSITION Adjustments
19. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
HINT: Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal Repair Instruction - Initialization.
