INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT: Start the inspection from step 1 when using the intelligent tester, and start from step 2 when not using the intelligent tester.
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
(a) Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the intelligent tester's main switch ON.
(c) Select the item below in the ACTIVE TEST, and then check that the relay operates.
Wiper:
NG -- INSPECT FUSE
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
2. INSPECT FUSE
(a) Inspect the AM1, FR WIP and ALT fuses.
(1) Measure the resistance between each terminal.
Standard resistance:
Below 1 Ohms
NG -- REPLACE FUSE
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER RELAY ASSEMBLY
(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard voltage:
NG -- INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
4. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
(a) Inspect the windshield wiper motor assembly Front Wiper Motor.
NG -- REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR
