Removal








INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. BOLT, SCREW AND NUT TABLE
HINT: The bolts, screws and nuts, which are necessary for installation and removal of the instrument panel are shown in the illustration below and the text with alphabets.





2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
HINT: Service Precautions

3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY
5. REMOVE NO. 2 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH





(a) Disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 2 console upper panel garnish.
6. REMOVE NO. 1 CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH





(a) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 1 console upper panel garnish.
7. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 11 clips and remove the upper console panel assembly, then disconnect the connectors.
8. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 7 clips as shown in the illustration.
(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel garnish sub-assembly LH.
9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL GARNISH SUB-ASSEMBLY RH
10. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL





(a) Disengage the 5 clips and remove the lower center instrument cluster finish panel, then disconnect the connectors.
11. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY Removal
12. REMOVE CONSOLE REAR END PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Disengage the 2 clips and the 5 claws, and then remove the console rear end panel sub-assembly.
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
13. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 bolts [D], the 2 screws [E] and the rear console box assembly.
14. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 CONSOLE BOX INSERT





(a) Disengage the 2 claws.
(b) Pull the front No. 2 console box insert rearward to remove it.
15. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX INSERT
16. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE UPPER PANEL GARNISH





(a) Disengage the 5 clips and remove the front console upper panel garnish, then disconnect the connectors.
17. REMOVE LOWER CONSOLE BOX





(a) Remove the 2 bolts [D].
(b) Remove the 2 screws [E] and the lower console box.
18. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER
19. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER
20. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal
21. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal
22. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal
23. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY Removal
24. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal
25. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal
26. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST





(a) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front floor footrest.
27. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH





(a) Remove the clip.
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim board LH.
28. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
29. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the screw [F].
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and the claw, and then remove the No. 1 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.
30. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL ORNAMENT





(a) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel ornament.
31. REMOVE NO. 1 SWITCH HOLE BASE
32. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE





(a) Remove the instrument panel finish plate.
33. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH LOWER PANEL RH





(a) Remove the 3 bolts [D].
(b) Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly and the fuel lid lock control cable sub-assembly.
(c) Disengage the 4 clips.
(d) Disconnect the connectors and remove the instrument panel finish lower panel RH.
34. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL LOWER LH
(a) Remove the 3 bolts [D] and instrument panel lower LH.
35. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 2 clips.
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.
36. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
37. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the screw [F].
(b) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.
38. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER





(a) Remove the screw [F].
(b) Disengage the 3 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover.
39. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ORNAMENT





(a) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the instrument panel ornament.
40. DISCONNECT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR Removal
41. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR SUB-ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the 5 screws [F].
(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the glove compartment door sub-assembly, then disconnect the connectors.
42. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY
43. REMOVE DISC PLAYER CHANGER (w/ CD Changer)
44. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP ASSEMBLY Removal
45. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal
46. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal
47. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 9 bolts [C] [D] and nut [A].
(b) Disconnect the connectors.
(c) Remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly with defroster nozzle duct.





48. REMOVE DEFROSTER NOZZLE ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the 5 screws [H] and defroster nozzle assembly.
49. REMOVE NO. 3 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT
(a) Remove the 2 screws [H] and No. 3 heater to register duct.
50. REMOVE NO. 1 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT
51. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT
52. REMOVE GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ LEXUS Link System) Removal
53. REMOVE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR
54. REMOVE NO. 3 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE
55. REMOVE NO. 2 CONNECTOR HOLDER
56. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY
57. REMOVE FRONT STEREO COMPONENT SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal
58. REMOVE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
59. REMOVE NAVIGATION ANTENNA ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)
60. REMOVE FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal
61. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY
