DRL Relay Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The Multiplex Network Body ECU controls the D.R.L. control circuit in the turn signal flasher.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (DRL RELAY)
(a) Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

OK:
DRL illumination condition is switched by Active Test.
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (DRL)
(a) Disconnect the connector.




(b) Measure the voltage between terminal DRL of the instrument panel J/B assembly (driver side J/B assembly) and body ground on the wire harness side.
Standard voltage:






OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
NG -- Continue to next step.
3. INSPECT TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY




(a) Disconnect the connector.
(b) Measure the voltage between terminals on the wire harness side as shown in the chart below.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. INSPECT TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY




(a) Connect the connector to the turn signal flasher and turn the ignition switch to ON, and inspect the wire harness side connector on the back side as shown in the chart.
Standard voltage:






NG -- REPLACE TURN SIGNAL FLASHER ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
