SEAT BELT: FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait for 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner deployment. Service Precautions

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (w/o Illumination) Removal
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE (w/ Illumination) Removal
4. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE Removal
5. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH Removal
6. REMOVE LAP BELT OUTER ANCHOR COVER





(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.





(b) for Front Passenger Side:
Detach the claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
7. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor end of the front seat outer belt assembly.
(b) for Front Passenger side:




(1) Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor end of the front seat outer belt assembly.
(2) Disconnect the connector.




(3) Detach the claws and remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.
8. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH Removal
9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY





(a) Remove the nut and disconnect the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.





(b) Using a screwdriver, pull out the locking button in the direction shown by the arrow to release the lock, and disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.
HINT:
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) Disconnect the connectors.





(d) Remove the 2 bolts and the front seat outer belt assembly.
